Remarks:
A breviary
as extra gift to deacon is pragmatic. An umbrella may serve for subdeacon >
herd.
A pluvial
may serve for chaplain > herd.
Other
paraments may serve also.
Black
biretta may serve for subdeacon > vicar general, Purple biretta for bishop,
red biretta for cardinal.
The bisshop
receives the staff and ring and mitre as gifts. The archbisshop > pope the
pall as gift.
Tiara may
serve to the pope as head of state.
The pope is
the superior archimandrite for all hermits, monks and sisters in all
churchprovinces.
Abbot
general & abbot primate are for 10 centuries as archimandrites, equal to
vicar general. The pope is abbot of the world, the superior.
The abbot
is blessed by the bisshop after election by monks. The archimandrite is blessed
by the archbisshop, after election by abbots.
Black mitre
may serve for coadjutor bishop, purple for (arch)bishop, red for cardinal, evt.
blue for metropolite, green mitre for patriarch.
A scroll or
book (codex iuris canonici) with additional church rules as extra gift to pope
is pragmatic.
A ferula
(cross-staff) may serve as parament to the pontiff, while the herdstaff may
serve as parament to the bishop > nuncio.
Staff or
paterissa: historicly simple, wooden straight or crook herdstaff is to herd
> vicar general, the metal crosier is to bishop > pope.
Wisdom and
other virtues must give distinction and dignity to the works of any person of
the cloth. No mitre, cope, bonnet, staff or pall.
